Thank you, Matsuyama.

680 of you came. 412 stayed for the quayside party on Thursday, which is 71 more than the quay was really designed for, and the harbour office has been kind about it.
Four days, four keynotes, 22 sessions (21 delivered; Bastien, get well soon), six workshops, 1,106 cups of coffee from the Quayside counter, and 23 countries on the lanyards. Hall 1 was full for Alex Longson's keynote on Thursday with 38 people standing at the back, which the fire officer has also been kind about. The recording is behind the attendee wall for now; it joins the public archive in September.
Yohaku was a theme that could have gone wrong. A festival about leaving things out is a festival that has to leave things out, and we did: no sponsor stage, no app, a programme with gaps in it. Thank you for filling the gaps with conversation instead of asking where the content was.
Thank you to the sixty-one volunteers in orange lanyards, to Morimoto Kūkan for a building that stayed warm, to the Iyotetsu drivers who held the last tram twice, and to the city of Matsuyama for lending us its flower.
The site stays up as the record of this edition. Photography is being edited and will land here in March. Press releases are on the press page.
MDF 08 is confirmed for September 2027. We are moving to autumn because February on the quay is honest but cold. Join the list and you will hear first.
